🧾 Step 1: Our Data Entry Team Handles the Details
When a product isn't available in our database, we simply ask users to submit it—just a picture or a few basic details. That’s it.
Users rarely provide complete product information, and that’s okay. Because from here, our data entry team steps in.
They carefully fill out:
- The complete product name
- Full list of ingredients
- All relevant labels (Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Kosher)
- A clear product image
- Manufacturer details like:
- Brand name
- Manufacturing company
- Country of manufacture
- Country where the product is sold
Once this is done, the real analysis begins.
🔬 Step 2: Food Scientists Take Over
Next, our food science team reviews every product in detail. They don’t just skim through ingredients—they dig deep.
They check:
- Ingredient sources
- Additives and processing agents
- Cross-contamination risks
- Any hidden animal-based compounds
They also run every ingredient through our AI-powered ingredient filter, which flags anything classified as haram or mushbooh (doubtful). This gives us an added layer of accuracy and speed in identifying questionable components.
🕌 Step 3: Reviewed by Our Esteemed Shariah Board
After the food science team finishes their diligence, all findings are passed on to our Halal Shariah Board.
This board includes trusted and experienced scholars from:
- The UK
- The US
- Australia
- Canada
- New Zealand
With decades of combined experience in halal certification and Islamic food laws, they carefully review the process and assist with the final decision on whether the product is halal, haram, or mushbooh.
Only after their approval products decision is made on the Mustakshif app.
